We love to the shop Farmer's Markets, here are some of the rare things you can find at your local farmer's market that you may not see at 'regular' stores :
- Locally grown fruits + vegetables (in Georgia, we love getting a variety of peaches straight from the orchards!)
- Just picked produce (sometimes farmers pick their produce just a few hours or less before the market starts! That means it is fresher, bursting with more nutrition, and it has the ability to stay fresher longer when we take it home!)
- Produce that is fully ripe when it is picked
- Fresh homemade jams + jellies (many times these have fresh ingredients too!)
- Beautiful wild flowers for your table
- Artisan breads for entertaining and for every day
- Restaurant quality foods like gourmet mushrooms, pasta, sauces, spices and more (oftentimes farmers sell to chefs because chefs want the freshest and the best ingredients, so we're buying the same things top restaurants are buying!)
- Amazing desserts
- Non GMO grains like grits + cornmeal
- Fresh seafood (even though we're not close to the coast, a family of fisherman drives up to our local market several times a season so we can stock up)
- Fresh eggs + pasture raised protein from caring farmers
- Aromatic herbs that make meals more flavorful + nutritious
- High performance skincare + cosmetics from small-batch manufacturers. Have a special request? Sometimes a small cosmetic manufacturer can customize a blend just for you.
- Delicious honey from local beekeepers
- Fresh roasted coffee + whole leaf teas
- Family fun (Farmer's Markets have pie baking contests, pie eating contests, watermelon eating contests and more. Plus it's fun to talk to your growers + makers : they have recipe tips, storage tips, beauty tips, party tips, entertaining tips and more)
- Unique gifts (put together an easy Gift Basket for your friends + family that celebrates your town, state, or region)
